Please review my IELTS General Training Writing Task 1

Essay topics: You took your family to a nearby restaurant. You were disappointed with the meal and wish to complain to the manager.

Write a letter to the manager of the restaurant. In the letter:

» explain why you were at the restaurant
» describe the problems
» write about the action you want the manager to take

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to you to express my dissatisfaction with the meal we were served at your restaurant yesterday.

My mother has come to visit me at that time. She wanted to take some Korean food so I decided to take her and my family to your restaurant whose menu includes some delicious Korean recipes I have ever had some times before. Moreover, it is not far from my house so we can walk there in a short time.

We ordered chicken fried rice. After an unexpected long wait, we received fish fried rice instead. I mentioned this problem with the waiter. He said to check it and come back soon. But after 10 minutes, I had to ask for checking again because of receiving no response. Finally, he said that it was the mistake of table number and suggested we had fish fried rice because there were so many customer at that time and it would take another long time to prepare the right dish we ordered without any compensation.

I will appreciate if you could take an action about this inconvenience. There will be no complaint about long waiting if you hire more staff to serve. Also, it would be great if you offer some discount coupons for compensation.

I hope you will take this matter seriously.

Yours faithfully,
Thu Hang
