The money spent on space research has brought enormous benefits to mankind, but it could be more usefully applied. How far do you agree?

A commonly held belief is that investing in aerospace science leads to a number of advantages to human race; however, other people are of the opinion that there are another way to exercise it more effectively. This essay will examine the arguments in favour of this point of view.

On the one hand, it is evident that the results of planetary study belong to the positive aspects. In the first place, it enhances safety on Earth. To elaborate, space technology can protect our planet and our environment as satellites provide information on climate change, measure pollution, the appearance of comets or meteorites... In addition, it enables cooperating with countries around the globe. A case in point is that scientists from all over the world might work together to explore the unknown and accelerate the development of scientific discoveries. Furthermore, it enables the opportunity to improve our day-to-day lives, namely products we use every day, weather forecasts, and communications worldwide. Accordingly, there is a need to provide capital for it.

On the other hand, over expenditure of it is recorded, let alone cases of misappropriation, in which individuals receive the funds then disappear, so it is better spent money on much more important things. Obvious instances include books and equipment for schools, new drugs and technologies for hospital, social security for single parents and the unemployed. Every spare penny should be channelled into these areas. It would be ideal to let people choose to spend the extra money in their pockets or anything else.

In conclusion, although venture in rocket science leads to numerous plus points, the use of it in some areas should be taken into consideration.
