2. My essay:
Childhood obesity is one of the most pressing concerns facing the world today. This problem leads several causes, and it has significant ramifications as well, but I think there are a few actions that may be taken to make this situation better.
Obesity in children is mostly caused by two reasons. One is having poor eating habits, such as consuming junk food and sugary soft drinks. These eating practices increase the body fat percentage and provide the basis for juvenile obesity. In general, almost overweight kids are exposed to fast food at a young age, including pizza, soft drinks, and hamburgers. Another contributing aspect would be that today's kids live sedentary lifestyles, preferring to play computer games and talk online over playing outside or participating in sports. Lack of activity causes youngsters to put on weight, which contributes to their obesity.
Despite all, I believe that parents and governments can take a number of measures. Giving kids good food, monitoring what they consume, and making sure they follow a healthy diet may be the first steps. In other words, parents should consider a diet that is higher in carbohydrates and lower in calories. Moreover, setting time limits on computers and finding methods which are inspiring children to take up sports or group activities involving physical activities are also great ideas. Last but not least, the government need to discourage the use of fast food and soft drinks by asking schools to take aware of having a healthy diet at school.
In conclusion, it is true that overweight children and their detrimental effects are increasing at an alarming rate; however, it appears to me that there are several options for tackling this problem.
