It is said that children should always follow their parent's advice, some people agree with this, some do not. Personally, I believe that children indeed should obey parent's advice, but not every time, they need to have their own choices and opinions to do what they want.
If a child is too dependent on whatever his/her parent's demand or advice, they could not be a mature person, in contrast, they would be independent, indecisive and when they have to make their choices, they will not know what to do and to choose on their own and would seek for someone's advice and help all the time, consequently, if they have listened to too much advice from people, they can not choose what to follow and be perplexed. But it does not mean that they should unfollow every of their parent's advice, it could lead to family issues or arguments.
So I think the best is that children should be aware of when to listen to their parents and when to be dependent, to choose and do a certain thing for themselves, so they could be more confident and self-disciplined.
