Nowadays, some workplaces tend to employ equal numbers of men and women. Do you think it is a positive or negative development?

In today’s world, men and women have equal rights; therefore, some workplaces are inclined to hire the same numbers of male and female employees. From my point of view, this is a positive trend since it can get rid of single-sex isolation in the working environment as well as provide more opportunities for both genders to prove their abilities.

When recruiting employees equally in terms of gender, companies can enhance their working capacity and give various chances to both male and female to improve themselves. Admittedly, the jobs that men can do, women also can, and each sex has a certain competence in a particular field of jobs that compensates for each other. For example, in the field of fashion, some males are better at sketching outline of clothes, while women are more skillful at producing these drawings into products, or vice versa. As a result, recruiting males and females equally not only can create high-quality products but also contribute to removing the prejudice in both men and women that they are not as good as the other gender in some particular domains.

Furthermore, both genders working together can reduce a sense of isolation compared to a single-sex working environment or in an ambiance that males or females take a prevalence. In fact, many jobs nowadays tend to be done by one sex such as builders, taxi drivers, or massage workers since it is a preconceived idea enduring for a long time. By working in an environment that the numbers of males and females are unequal , workers may feel isolated because it might reduce opportunities for them to make friends as well as learn experiences from both genders.

In conclusion, employing workers equally regarding gender is a positive development because of many disadvantages it offers, not only for companies, but also for employees themselves.
