In some countries, more and more people are becoming interested in finding out about the history of the house or building they live in.

What are the reasons for this? How can people research this?

It is increasingly prevalent among people in some parts of the world to research the origin of their accommodation. There are several reasons related to this trend such as curiosity or superstition, and to uncover the history of their building, people can use many ways.

The first reason leading to the desire among people who want to know about the history of their houses is mainly because of their curiosity. Some people are interested in the origin of their dwellings to have more knowledge about that such as: “how were they built? or how many years have their houses been constructed?”, then people can broaden their horizon about their accommodations. Second, some careful residents are inquisitive about the history because superstitious customs worry them. In fact, some people in Viet Nam believe that the history of the house may affect their fortunes. For example, if houses or buildings are rumored to be possessed by devils, hosts of these houses or house buyers need to hire magicians to evict the ghost, or else they may face various problems in the future. Therefore, by knowing the origin of the house, they can quickly deal with some issuses related to their luck.

There are many ways in which people can absorb the knowledge of their houses’ history, such as: via the Internet or neighbors. With the help of them, people can have an in-depth understanding of the dwellings that they are residing in and whether or not these houses are suitable for them. In fact, the information about the buildings and houses is provided by neighbors or the Internet, often more accurate than the old hosts. Admittedly, some hosts just tell lies about the origin and history of the buildings to sell them as soon as possible, and if they tell anything bad about their houses, no one will be willing to buy them.

In conclusion, it is my view about this trend and I think everyone should pay more attention to the history of their houses because it will provide people with new knowledge and address problems related to religious customs. In addition, these individuals desiring to comprehend the story can seek from numerous means including searching on the internet and asking their neighbors.
