Fast food is now universally in most countries and is becoming increasingly popular. Some feel that this is a positive trend, while others do not. What are your opinions on this?

Fast food is increasing commonly in most nations due to its convenience for poor-time and busy people. Although some hold the belief that this is a beneficial development, I believe that this trend brings more drawbacks, especially for consumers.

On the one hand, because of globalization, fast food restaurants sprung up almost everywhere, even if in some rural areas, which can generate more income for local residents by working as employees in diverse fast-food chains such as KFC, Loteria, and Mc Donal. In addition, fast food can also offer far-flung people have access to Western cuisines rather than eating traditional dishes almost every day. Secondly, fast food is especially suitable for office workers and students who are often tied up with works and do not have enough time to cook by themselves. Hence, they need to resort to fast food and may find it as convenient and time-saving dishes.

On the other hand, fast food also can generate some drawbacks if people often rely on it. Admittedly, when this kind of food has become popular, people can access it more often regardless of wherever they are, be it urban or rural areas. Therefore, an occupied person tends to consume fast food as a normal dish almost every day, which can generate various health problems such as obesity, cardiovascular diseases. Secondly, especially youngsters who are easily tempted by unhealthy foods can find fast food as a delicious and convenient dish; hence, they are inclined to satiate homemade meals and may consume fast food whenever they feel hungry while do not think about serious after-effects that this kind of food brings.

In conclusion, although fast food can generate some merits for certain countries, I still believe that the disadvantages it offers can detrimentally affect people’s health.
