The chart below shows the amount of leisure time enjoyed by men and women of

different employment status. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The bar chart indicates the quantity of free time spent by males and females of distinct employment status

between 1998 and 1999.

Overall, men and women who were unemployed or retired had more leisure time compared to other employment situations. In addition, employed full-time females were the group having the least time for recreation.

In terms of the unemployed group, the amount of leisure time spent by men was about 85 hours higher than that of women for more than five hours. Regarding retired people, the quantity of their leisure time was as equal as those who were out of work, and both groups had the highest leisure time in the chart.

The amount of free time enjoyed by full-time females was less than 40 hours, while males had more than 45 hours in terms of leisure time. Part-time women and housewives spent their time for enjoyment just above 40 hours and 50 hours respectively; there was no data about the free time of men in both columns.
