Opinions are divided whether job satisfaction or job security is predominant for an employee. From my perspective, despite some benefits of having life-long occupations, being fulfilled at work is the leading factor to the success of individuals.

Granted, there are compelling reasons to say that assurance in a job is essential. This is predicated on the assumption that it guarantees the stability and credibility for a person who is in charge of making ends meet. Most workers with a permanent job know exactly their monthly income to be in full control of their financial plans; therefore, they will be less worried about the short-term financial problems such as debts and bills, which helps them allocate more time to being fixated on more important matters like career trajectory or even promotion. For example, many people who have a passionate interest in art are willing to give up their dreams in order to seek a steady job because of stable salaries. If they had chosen to pursue their passion, their children could be negatively affected due to the insufficient living conditions.

However, this is not sound because employees, without contentment in their working environment, cannot fully develop to achieve accomplishments. Given the satisfaction in jobs, they are not likely to suffer from work stress or burnout, which allows them to enhance their productivity as well as their employee morale. An unhappy worker also has difficulties with their feelings, reconciling their frustration with their day-to-day temperament. Such problems might result in them being short with co-workers, complaining with their friends or even resenting their family for the burden that they must shoulder for their welfare. A good example is Google. They have equipped facilities such as gyms or café to reduce pressure for employees and this undoubtedly improves the situation of the turnover of stressful employees.

In conclusion, I am of the opinion that being satisfied in jobs should be prioritized instead of having stable but dead-end ones.
