Cyber insecurity is a rising problem in many countries. What problems does a lack of cybersecurity cause Internet users? What solutions can you suggest to solve this?

While the Internet brings about various benefits to people, online insecurity is a side-effect that proves to be a growing concern in numerous nations. This essay is to explain the issues associated with it as well as propose some practical solutions.

To begin with, the impacts of cyber insecurity usually revolve around users’ finance and private lives. Regarding the former, hackers have the tendency to attack victims’ devices in search of bank details and payment details. Using these pieces of information, they can easily seize control of, or steal, victims’ money and properties, which ultimately leads to huge financial losses. Moreover, perpetrators could accumulate users’ personal information and secrets. This may not cause immediate consequences, but in the long term, they may even spread this information to the public, which will most likely be detrimental to victims’ honor, reputation, and way of life.

Although these problems are tremendous, there are several approaches we should take into account. First, users must be more proactive in preventing sensitive information from being leaked. This can be easily done by adjusting privacy settings of websites and apps, as well as frequently changing passwords, making sure that they are strong and secured. In addition, people could protect private details in public places. For instance, when typing passwords in open spaces or using the ATM machine, they can pay more attention to their surroundings to ensure that no one is trying to obtain their information. Second, the government should promote people’s awareness of Internet safety. While banners and advertisements are great means of communication to the general public, some more feasible solutions are campaigns and community education programs that directly engage people in this topic.

In conclusion, as the Internet becomes more accessible and affordable, the dangers of online insecurity has also increased over the years, which mostly damage people’s reputation and property ownership. Nevertheless, online users and the government can work hand in hand to resolve this issue.
