The tradition that the family gets together to eat meals is dissapearing. What are the reasons? What are the impacts?

The fact that the members in family enjoy the meals together becomes less popular. This trend results from some reasons and brings changes in our daily lives.

There are some main factors which hinder people from eating with their families. Firstly, the high competition in the labour market makes everybody always has to endeavour, this turn out takes them too much time to pay attention to their families. Secondly, with the expansion of social networks as well as a wide range of other sources of entertainment, people tend to be attracted with their virtual life instead of real life. For example, although eating together, many people only concentrate to their own smartphones, surfing the Facebook, Instagram without talking to each other. Moreover, the generation gap is also considered as one of the reasons makes members in a family are on distant with each other. To be more precise, along with the development of the Internet, a new generation called "Millennials" was introduced. They are people who get used to using Internet, checking emails everyday and their lifestyles are not the same as that of the older generation. The differences in thoughts or even eating habits set obstacles to people talk and enjoy meals together.

This trend will put some negative impacts on our lives. Firstly, these familes will lose the intimacy. For example, the absence of a member from meals can easily makes atmosphere become stressful. People do not have chance to share their feelings or stories with their families, which even leads to the misunderstanding among members. On the other hand, this fact affects the children. If their mothers or fathers do not enjoy meals together, they will feel lonely and unhappy, which have a bad effect on their emotional development and manners.

In summary, the disappearance of this tradition is caused by both external and internal reasons and it led to some disadvantages for human life.
