Some people believe that crime is a result of social problems and poverty, others think that crime is a result of bad person’s nature. Discuss both views and give your own opinion
It is supposed that a person's innate characteristics are a greater cause of the commission of a crime than social effects. Others, myself included, argue that committing an offense is largely a consequence of social issues and poverty.
A person’s nature has long been viewed to provoke criminal behavior. First, a gang finds some ways that they can gain money instead of making an honest living through working hard. The lazy and greedy, for instance, choose to become a thief or robber to earn income which is equivalent to their annual salary. Second, those who are aggressive are more likely to commit an offense than those who are gentle. Chances are that impulsive people will choose violence over a peaceful settlement. what may follow is they turn to a career of crime.
Nevertheless, it seems to me that social issues and poverty are the main cause of crime. There are many problems in society which elevate the crime rate. For example, unemployment status has climbed in our contemporary society, leading to the rise of crime. Be fired at work meaning that the source of income is deprived, the poor workers find themselves a way to support their kids; that is to steal or cheat others or pickpocket in the market. Poverty also breeds the malicious idea that unlawful, yet lucrative activities typically provide the easiest and fastest way out. Keep that thought in mind then the underprivileged can do anything even it means breaking the law to lift themselves out of tough times.
In conclusion, although both views certainly are justified some extent, it seems to me that the principal causes of crime are a result of social conditions and problems.
