The diagram illustrates how dwellers in the U.S obtain a driving license.
Overall, there are a total of seven steps and three types of tests in the progress for those who are eligible, beginning from visiting the driving license center to receiving the license.
The first step is to go to the driving license and fill the required forms. Next, participants will be checked if their eyesight is qualified to drive. In case they fail the test, they will not be able to register a driving license. In contrast, those who pass the eyesight test will proceed with the next steps by paying fees. Subsequently, participants will sit the written exam and they need to pay this exam before eligible to attend the road exam. Participants have up to two retakes of written exam before they have to pay extra fees to take the test again. After passing the written test, comes the road exam. While attendees can take the written exam three times maximum, they can only sit at the road exam once. If they pass, they will get the driving license, otherwise, they will have to repay the fees if they want to give it another try.
