Please review my IELTS essay task 1

My topic: The two maps below show an island before and after the construction of some tourist facilities. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

My essay:

The diagrams illustrate a number of developments on a small island, which is constructed for tourist purpose.

As it is shown in the maps, the island has changed significantly with the introduction of tourism and six new features can be seen clearly in the second diagram. The main constructions are occurred in the middle and west side of an island that become accessible and restful for visitors.

Looking at the first map of the island before constructing, there are only trees and beach on the eastern and western area and most of the places are empty. This is purely natural environment and there is no man-made features on the island.

After the construction, two clusters of tourist homes are built around the central part of an island, where the reception is located. The footpaths connect the residential building to each other and extend to the beach in the west side that are developed with the swimming area alongside the coastline. Furthermore, the restaurant which serves as the food and drink provision is constructed near the north coast of the island. There is the vehicle track that connect the restaurant and reception together and elongate to the new pier in the southern segment, where the tourist can enjoy fishing and sailing.
