Topic: Modern technology has made it easier for individuals to download copyrighted music and books from the Internet for no charge.

To what extent is this a positive or negative development?

My task:

In the contemporary world, present-day technology enables people to download copyrighted music and books from the Internet free of charge. It is my opinion that it is a both positive and negative case.

On the one hand, this development brings people numerous benefits. It is obvious that we are able to save a fortune when getting books and music downloaded completely free. In the past, people had to consider for a long time before making their mind to purchase a book because books were astronomically expensive. It was thought that buying a book was an extravagant action, instead money used to make a purchase of a book should be used for other exigencies. Besides, this case can promote reading tradition as there are a prodigious amount of free books suited for every age available on the Internet.

On the other hand, this trend may also have a debilitating effect on some aspects of our life. First, it is highly likely that there are many technological criminals creating harmful links for the purpose of earning money. If we click these links , we may lose money without our awareness. Second, groups of rebels can grasp at this opportunity to achieve their goals. For instance, they are capable of posting books or music having rebellious content with false but appealing descriptions to draw people's attraction on the Internet. after reading these attractive lines, people only think that they are interesting, as a result, they would download them.

In conclusion, while free downloadable books and music are advantageous to people with regard to finance and reading tradition promotion, I believe that they also bring us serious disadvantages.
