Please review my IELTS essay

Topic:

Computers are often argued to be the most important invention of the last hundred years. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

My essay:

It is argued that computers are the most important invention of the century. I completely agree with the aforementioned statement. It is true that computers have improved people's life such as communication, entertainment, and helped to create advanced technologies.

First, computers have made communication between people easier than before. Using applications such as Zoom, Google Meet, IMO have made it easier to connect with people from any part of the world. People don't have to wait for a longer period for a reply like in the past. Now, messages are send, read and replied within seconds. Also, computers have changed the way we shop and watch entertainment. Shopping online from platforms such as Amazon, Flipkart have helped to buy products from any part of the world which are not available in stores.

Computers have helped to establish new modern technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, robotics and 3D printing which would not have been possible in the past. These technologies have proven to be helpful in different sectors like health care, space and construction. For instance, in the medical field, robotic surgery also known as da Vinci system have helped to achieve successful surgeries across the world, with surgeon being in one country and patient in other. Additionally, with the support of computer, students as well as teachers can use plenty of resources available on the internet to learn.

To conclude, computers are the most important invention of the last hundred years. The computer has changed the overall lifestyle of people in the way they communicate, learn and enjoy. Computers has helped to establish advanced technologies such as AI, robotics.
