Please review my IELTS essay

Topic:

The table below shows the number of overseas visitors to Britain from different countries between 1997 to 2005, and gives forecasts for 2020. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

My essay:

The chart illustrates the number of foreign tourists to the UK from four different countries from 1997 and 2005 as well as the number of expected visitors in 2020. Overall, it can be generally seen that the UK attracted more visitors throughout these periods and will continue to welcome more in 2020.

The number of French tourists was the highest in 1997 at almost 3.6 million. Then, the figure decreased for the next 4 years, hitting a bottom at approximately 2.8 million in 2001. After that, more French started to visit the UK and the number rose to about 3.3 million by 2005. On the other hand, the US which had the second highest number in 1997 reached a peak of almost 4 million visitors in 1999, surpassing France in numbers since then. The figure remained as the highest for the next 6 years, ranging from about 3.3 to about 3.6 million.

The total number of Australian tourists gradually increased between these periods: from 684,000 in 1997 to 919,000 in 2005. India has the smallest number of tourists to the UK at all times and its figure remained flat until 2003; however, the figure started to increase reaching at 272,000 in 2005.

Regarding the future estimations, Britain is projected to have more visitors from these countries except those from America. Forecast shows the highest increase for India as a 26% rise. The number of American tourists is expected to be the same as 2005.
