The table below shows the projected costing over the next five years in American dollars for three environmental projects for sustainable forestry. The pie chart shows the expected expenditure breakdown allocation for the first year as the projects are set up.
The table plots how much money will be spent on three ecological plans (West Africa, Central America and South-east Asia) to preserve forest during a five-year period in American dollars and the pie chart gives estimated consumption in four aspects: set-up costs, salaries, training, office expenses in Year 1.
In general, South-east Asia is forecast to invest the most among three schemes, and will be the only project to have the money increased, to the peak of 50 million dollars. On the contrary, West Africa and Central America will gradually reduce the funds. As regards the anticipated outlay classification, the majority of money will be in salaries, accounting for a half of the total.
In the first year, the money allocated in Central America and South-east Asia will respectively be almost double and triple that of West Africa (10,5 million) whereas the next year, there will be a minor decrease in all proposals. However, between year 3 and 5, some disparity is expected to appear as the currency in West Asia is set to keep stable for two years then increase to 3.5 million (though it is still the lowest compared to other projects) while that of Central America will remain unchanged at a modest 5 million and South-east Asia will rise slightly from 40 to a hefty 50 million.
The expected outgoings in the initial year for salaries will occupy a sizable 50% of the sum. The other half is estimated to contain set-up costs, which make up one third of the whole, followed by training and office expenses at a mere 10%.
