Overall, though playing computer games is recorded as the most favorite activity in four countries, topping at 60 percent in Nigeria, reading only accounts for 10 percent to 20 percent. Moreover, the proportion of young children enjoying watching television remains unchanged in four countries while one-fourth to one-fifth of children who find board games appealing are recorded.
With respect to four home activities among children in Nigeria, the figure for digital gaming reaches 60 percent, sextupling that of reading. Whereas, the number of young television watchers accounts for 30 percent, 10 percent higher in comparison with its counterpart - board games. Furthermore, though their figures are reported identical in Malaysia and China, with 25 and 30 percent correspondingly, they both hit 30 percent in Sudan.
Regarding the figures for computer games and reading in Malaysia, China, and Sudan, the former ranges from 40 to 50 percent, recording the most preferred indoor activity. Meanwhile, the latter only reaches its peak in Malaysia with 20 percent, prior to decreasing by 5 to 10 percent in China and Nigeria.
