Topic: The graph shows the percentage of UK adolescents following a vegetarian diet. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features

The line chart shows the proportion of young adults who choose to follow the vegetarianism in the UK from 1960 to 2020.

Overall, as is observed from the graph, the percentage of young British, who were vegetarians kept on increasing till the 80’s and then witnessed a steady decrease. After the year 2000, this ratio continued to be an upward trend.

In detail, there was an gradual increase in the percentage of UK youngsters following a vegetarian diet, until 1980, when it reached a peak at 15.5 %. Over the next ten years, the rate of adolescents plummeted to 6.5%. After falling sharply, this proportion went up slightly to 7.5 %, and then it fluctuated for many years. Since 2000, there was a constant growth in the young person ratio. Finally, it decreased minimally and levelled off from 2010 to 2020.
