My topic:

The table shows forested land in millions of hectares in different parts of the world.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

My essay:

The table compares the area of forest in some continents around the word in 1990, 2000 and 2005.
Overall, the total area of forest in the world in 1990 was higher than it was in 2005. Some areas like South America and Africa lose the highest number of hectares, although the number of Europe and Asia increased.
In 1990, the area in some parts increased. Europe had 989 million hectares in 1990, then it rose by 9 million in 2002 and reach its highest number in 2005, at 1001 million. The forest area in Asia also increased, from 576 million in 1990 to 584 million in 2005, only half by Europe, although it slightly dropped to 570 million in 2000.
By contrast, the number of forest area decreased dramatically in some continents. During the period between 1990 and 2005, Africa and South America lost the highest number of trees, from 749 million to 691 million and 946 million to 882 million respectively.
Oceania had a slight decrease from 1990 to 2005. The number of forest area in North America dropped by 3 million, from 708 million in 1990 to 705 million in 2000, then it levelled off in the next five years. And Oceania had the lowest forest area in the world in time.
