Please review my IELTS essay

Topic: The graph below gives information on wages of Somecountry over a ten-year period. Write a report for a university tutor describing the information shown.

My essay:

The line graph illustrates the percentage of the growth in wages between the years of 1993 and 2003.
Overall, the growth trend of wages fluctuated unpredictably throughout the period of 10 years, begining with 2% and ending with the same figure.
In details, there was a sharply increase in wages from 1993 to 1994 by 2% but then dropped gradually to 3% in the mid-1996. After this stage, the percentage of wages rose steadily until it had reached a peak of 6% by the year 1998. However, apart from a slightly brief rise between 1999 and 2000, there was a rapid decrease over the period of four years, from 1999 to 2002 and reached a trough of nearly 1%. Fortunately, in the rest of the 10 year timescale, the wage percentage went up again although it just reached at a low figure of 2% as the beginning.
To sum up, the rate of wages changed constanly during ten years. It reached the highest figure at the middle of the period and then dropped dramatically to 3% in but steadily to 1%.
