Please review my IELTS essay

Topic: Some people view giving presents as an important way to show care to family and friends. Others think there are more important things that can be done to show care and appreciation. Do you agree and disagree?

My essay:

For a few decades, gift-giving has been more and more popular and become a trend of reciprocal treatment among people. While some people believe that giving presents is the best way to show their love and respect to the receiver, others have thought that it is not the crucial thing to reveal intimacy in their relationship. As far as I concern, the present is a significant part to show our love to family and friends and the main reason will be analyzed before a conclusion is drawn.

In the first place, offering presents has seemed like a traditional part of daily behavior in many countries when an occasion such as a festival, an anniversary is organized. Many residents think that the more precious the gift, the more luck and fortune other people receive. Moreover, the value of the present also assists inhabitants in their life, distinctively in poor and developing nations. An example for this is the relief gift of donors sent to the regions with floods and drought have helpt the dwellers here strongly overcome the crisis

Another reason that makes gifting culture cultivate is by the background and the story inside the present. Seeing a gift would remind the old memories with the giver and also demonstrate the affection and importance of this one in your life. Besides that, the presents also represent love and thankfulness which people desire to give their acquaintances. It is quite common for many distance-working parents who do not have much time to spend with their children, consequently, gifts for sons and daughters as compensation for their inability to spend quality time with them.

To summarize all my mentions, despite not the only way to express feeling, giving a gift is the best method to share love and care with our familiar people. Sometimes a minute present can itself act as a show of love and appreciation. Therefore, the gifts gradually become an indispensable object for our intimate ones on distinctive occasions.
