Topic: Whether or not someone achieves their aims is mostly by a question of luck. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
My essay:
While some people suppose that someone’s success mostly depends on luck instead of their own hard work, I completely disagree with that opinion.
On the one hand, I strongly believe that industrious and persistent people will be successful in everything they do. Hard-working people have more chances to attain their goals as they will make efforts to overcome any difficulties in their lives. For instance, Nick Vujicic, an inspiring speaker who suffered from a rare disorder resulting in the absence of four limbs, earned a bachelor's degree and a double major in accountancy and financial planning. People all over the world have respected him for his tireless efforts across the country since he traveled around the world as a motivational speaker.
On the other hand, it is undeniable that luck is only a small factor determining one’s achievement. As a matter of fact, people can not always depend on luck to achieve goals. If a student does not study for an exam, chances are he or she may fail, no matter how lucky he or she may be. Secondly, luck only contributed to short-term fortune. For instance, a person winning a lottery is definitely lucky because winning a lottery does not require any effort. It purely depends on luck however nothing can make sure that he or she will win the lottery again for the rest of his or her life.
In conclusion, for the above-mentioned reasons, I strongly believe that in order to accomplish objectives in life, one must be highly persistent and industrious to stick to his or her passion till the end.
