The line graph shows the number of people of 3 age groups in Chile between 1975 and 2035.

Overall, it is clear that the proportion of the 15-64 group was consistently largest during a 40-year period. Meanwhile, people 65 years and over increased gradually. In contrast, the percentage of under 15 people decreased significantly.

Looking at the graph more closely, one can see that the percentage of 15-64 group was greatest from 1975 to 2035. At this period, it increased steadily by about 20% from 50% to 70% until 2015, when it is expected to fall down 10% in 2035. The proportion of the youngest people was less than 10%, compared to the 15-64 group, at 40%. However, it plummeted remarkably and be predicted will hit at the 15% point in 2035. In 1975, the percentage of the oldest group was at the lowest point, at nearly 5%, but it was forecasted that it would rose gradually throughout 40 years and will at the same percent as the youngest group at the end of the period, at 15%.
