Topic: 'These days people in some countries are living in a “throw-away” society which mean people use things in a short time then throw them away. What are the causes and problems of throw-away society?’

The topic of “throw-away society” has been aggressively discussed recently. In this society, people tend to dispose of their old items whether it still functions or is out of order and purchase the latest version. This can be attributed to a hordes of reasons and consequently, there are variety of negative effects that will arise.

There are several causes of this problem in the society. However, in my point of view, there are 3 major causes. To begin with, the action of throwing away can be an evidence of higher living standard. With high and stable incomes, people can afford things that they want to fulfill their needs. Another reason is that the improvement of products. In other words, factories create cheaper goods with lower prices, which create multiple choices for people to choose and purchase. Last but not least, this can be about people’s thoughts influenced by advertisements. Advertisements encourage people to buy goods and services that they do not need by delivering the message that these can improve their appearance and their status.

This way of living can suffer unwanted consequences. Interms of individuals, they could get into heavy debts as they have the habit of buying sales or the latest version. This is popular among teenagers. Many are under huge pressure to pay their debts because of unnecessary purchases, which lead to serious medical problems, for example depression, stress, diseases related to respiratory system, etc. Another essential effect is ther severe damage to the environment. As people throw away, there will be much more rubbish, putting big pressure on trash factories, which harms to the environment due to human’s carelessness. Many forests or natural materials will be cut down to fulfill the deamand of the world.

In conclusion, there are various factors leading to the advent of throwaway society. And as a consequence, debt and environmental damage is undeniable.
