Topic: Environmental protection is the responsibility of politicians, not individuals as individuals can do too little. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
It is believed that governments must have power to protect and solve the problems about environment while most each citizen has no duty to do that. I completely disagree with this idea because environmental issues need the combination between politicians and individuals.
It is true that some environmental issues are too big for individuals to deal with such as global warming, flood or prolonged drought. It requires large resources which includes human resources, finance and technology. Therefore, it needs the efforts and cooperations of politicians and big environmental organizations. For instance, it took two years for scientists and researchers to explore and analyze the causes of the greenhouse effect, then help them to find the most solutions to tackle this problem. Only governments can have sufficient funds and resources to invest in this.
However, individuals are still aware of protecting surrounding environment by the easiest way they can. In daily life, they can use the energy-efficient household items instead of devices which consumed a lot of fuel. Moreover, they can recycle old household devices or grow trees to decline carbon dioxides releasing into environment. Besides, if politicians and individuals do not deal with this problem together, environmental issues will never be effectively tackled. For example, although governments introduced a new law to ban burning forest in order to crop and breed, farmers ignored it and still deforested for their own purposes. This leads to the fact that climate change is getting worse and worse.
In conclusion, i believe that the environment is the obligation of both politicians and individuals .
