ANSWER

With the development of advancing technology, media is an indispensable part of residents’ life, particularly in modern business. Personally, people who control the media can change opinions and attitudes of buying of customers or sometimes they can rectify, appealing to the attention of people.

Advocates of the former view that the media as advertising manipulates people through on television or the internet. Advertisers usually focus on selling a brand image by using glamorous and hiring successful people which aim to attract the customers to buy their products. Therefore, these persuade people that buying a product will make them happier and following the latest trends. Quang Hai – a successful football player in Vietnam, for instance, he introduces the new product as a viettel+ card on TV which is developed by Viettel company. As a result, this brings the belief of customers when they use the card and the company hopes that more and more people use their products.

On the other hand, whoever controls the media has ultimate control over what is published or broadcasted and what is omitted. As a consequence, they can add a certain prejudice or bias to their coverage of certain new stories depending on their feeling about the matter. For example, techniques used in yellow journalism may include exaggerations of news events, scandal-mongering or sensationalism. If news coverage is bias to make the front of page headlines about famous singers, attracted by the readers. This will be effective seriously in their career although breaking news like these can earn lots of money and gain the famous.

In conclusion, I completely agree that the media is a source of power and control. However, I suppose that the media should be controlled effectively by the government.
