Please review my IELTS essay

TOPIC: Some people say History is one of the most important school subjects. Other people think that in today's world, subjects like Science and Technology are more important than History. Discuss both views and your own opinion.

There is a hot debate over history is considered one of the essential subjects at school, while others claimed that science and technology are more important at the present day. This essay will discuss both views and draw my personal opinion.

On one hand, students should be taught history even in today's world. History is where they can learn about the origin of our modern society. In addition, history provides students a full insight of special events which have occurred in the past; for example, children who learning have ability to identify the how and why of events, also understand their own culture, hence, they will learn how to honour the memory of those lost in wars and their extreme dedication to the country.

On the other hand, I believe that subjects associated with science and technology should be prioritised as they have a huge impact on human's development, due to the fact that the basis of much of the fabric of our modern life is come from advanced technology and science. Nowadays there is a massive increase in demand for using computer and other automatic devices. For instance, some art courses now require students having computer skills such as graphic design or advertisements. Countries that devote more of their educational budgets towards these subjects will give students a head start on a potential future career and increase their chances of having higher living standard.

In conclusion, history should be studied by every people and we should not defy this subject, but I believe that science and technology are more crucial subjects as they are better investment in the future.
