Please Review My IELTS essay!

Topic: Some people think that the news media nowadays have influenced people’s lives in negative ways. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

My essay:

There is some disputes whether the increasing popularity of news media has adverse impacts on people lives . This is a complex issue, and I am firmly of the opinion that media is in favor of people in some aspects.

The primary reason for my belief is that news media undoubtedly broadens the horizon of people. Indeed, their knowledge is no longer limited in their country through the use of these medias such as the Internet. This is because almost all of understanding of the world is immediately updated on media. News media also provides people the opportunity to have access to different attitudes, which could better their critical thinking. Infact, it is easily to meet hundred of comments on one controversial topic to protect personal opinions on the Internet.

Another reason for my belief is that media gives the feeling that people do not belong to a big planet earth, but they are living in a small global village. The global spreading of the tradition and lifestyle of Korea is a possible example of the significant effect of media. The Korean cultural symbol, such as food, film and music, now, are enormously popular, and they are loved by many teenager over the world. News media, therefore, act as a bridge between different cultures in the world, shortening the cultural distance.

In conclusion, I believe that the growth of news media may benefit people lives in some ways, including expanding their understanding as well as playing an important role in globalization process.

Please give me some comments about my ideas and mistakes.
