Some people believe that studying at university or college is the best route to a successful career, while others believe that it is better to get a job after school. Discuss both views.
It is argued that whether pursuing higher education or having a job after school could bring more benefits. It seems to me that each route has its advantages.
On the one hand, it is obvious that following tertiary education could help people achieve their successful careers. First, several professions require that people have to obtain academic knowledge, which is just delivered in universities. For instance, if people do gain the necessary knowledge in such professions as doctors and teachers, they could even cause detrimental effects on people's lives. Second, it is clear that in a competitive market, a person who owns academic certifications would have more advantages, compared to their peers who own fewer qualifications. They could easily follow a successful career with more job prospects and promotion opportunities, thanks to their qualifications, which demonstrate part of their academic knowledge and abilities.
On the other hand, getting a job after graduating from high schools also has its own benefits. First, a person who chooses to have work instead of entering universities would have more opportunities to master vital soft skills. It is clear that instead of learning impractical theories in institutions, they could practice relevant skills in the workplace and put the knowledge gained into practice, which are important factors in achieving a successful career. Second, by entering adult life earlier than their peers, they become more mature and less dependent on their families. In Viet Nam, a lot of people can support their families and become a successful businessman in the early age without studying in universities.
In conclusion, continuing to study in tertiary education or getting a job after graduating has its own advantages.
