My essay:
The charts compare the amount of wwater used for agriculture industry and homes around the world between 1990 and 2000, and water use in Brazil and Demecratic Republic of Congo in 2000.
It can be seen that the water needs over the world increased significantly from 1990 to 2000, and the agriculture sector used the largest amount of water. It is also noticeable that water expenditure per person in Brazil was considerably higher than that of Congo.
In 1990, about 500 km3 of water was used for the agriculture sector around the world. The figures for industrial and domestic water use were much smaller, just one fifth of that amount. By 2000, there was a sixfold increase in the amount of water utilization in the agriculture sector, around 3000 km3. Similarly, inudustrial water use had a significant increase to nearly 1500 km3 and tripled that of domestic water consumption.
In the year 2000, 176 million citizens in Brazil and 5.2 million citizens Congo made a noticeable difference between the populations of two countries. In addition, Brazil had 265 times more irregated land than Congo. It is a reason that the amount of water consumption per person in Brazil was much more considerable than that of Congo, particularly 359m3 and 8m3 respectively.
