Topic: Nowadays, people have little awareness of the importance of the natural world. What are the reasons and how can people learn more about the natural world?

These days, many people do not fully comprehend how important nature is for the exsistence of human beings. There are some possible reasons behind this issue and a number of feasible actions people could take to enhance their knowledge about the natural world.

In modern societies, most people have a severe lack of understanding when it comes to the role that nature plays in their lives, and this can be attributed to some reasons. Firstly, due to the fast speed of urbanization and industrialization, lots of factories and buildings are built on the lands belonging to the nature. As a consequence, people are not close to nature and therefore not appreciate or understand its significance. Another reason for this problem is that individuals nowadays are very occupied with daily life. Adults are busy with the tight schedule at work or sometimes snowed under with deadlines in order to make enough money to pay for the cost of living. Besides, children also spend their time for the academic study or else waste their free time playing computer games, keeping eyes on TV or smartphones. All of these activities tend to prevent people from discovering the natural environment.

However, there are various practical solutions helping people know more about the nature. To begin with, cities need to become greener. Local authorities should encourage to open up larger green space into cities so that residents could spend more time immersing themselves in nature on a regular basis. The street must be lined with trees and there must be large park in every single neighborhood area. Most importantly, children need to be taught about the significance of nature in school. Schools should organize extracurricular activities such as visiting zoos, camping in forests, planting trees so as to ensure that future generations are well aware of the importance of nature and gow to live in harmony with it.
