Essay & Composition Writing

Please review my essay, thanks

There are many things in life which you have to accept them as they are, and one of them is your family. It may be a small family or a large extended one and growing up in each of those families shapes your life in more profound ways than you realize. Personally speaking, I would lean toward living in an extended family and I will discuss it in detail in the rest of this essay.

Finding someone to play with is the first problem a child in a small family encounter. It might be seemed a minor problem if you did not consider that children learn social skills from play. When I was a child there was a three-year boy in my neighborhood who lived only with his mother. He had not been able to speak until he spent few months with my siblings and me. Therefore, having playmates is a very important factor which can affect children's lives and parents in small families are struggling to find good friends for their children.

In extended families, finding a playmate is not difficult. Children of these families are socialized by playing with their cousins and other members of the family. In this way, they enjoy their companionship therefore they will bound together and become lifelong friends. Due to strong sense of kinship between relatives they will support each other in case any problems arise. They also will learn competitiveness in a friendly environment. As a result, these children would be prepared for dealing with the real world.

To conclude, although children cannot opt their family, it affects their life seriously. In my opinion, because of not learning social skills children would suffer the consequences of growing up in a small family. The situation is different in an extended family and children learn being supportive and competitive which are essential skills to be successful in the life are.
