Some people claim that newspaper is the best way to get the latest information because it has more influence than other forms of media. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Appearing with the completion of papermaking technique, newspapers have been used to transmit the information to the public for decades and reading them has become a culture of the old generation. Even until now, a number of people say that retaining the latest news from newspapers is supreme and other social media can’t defeat it. I personally disagree with this idea
First, talking about time, reading newspaper in the morning has become the habit of the majority of elderly people in my country. It is a collection of the latest news about all kinds of events that happened on the previous day concluding both political, civil and economic problems. As a result, if there is an accidental event today, readers can only know it tomorrow when they purchase a new newspaper. On the contrary, online resources such as TIMES or CNN update news continuously. For example, if there is a summit conference between American and Korean president at 10 am, news report will be edited and uploaded immediately on the website and the audiences who are interested in can approach this information at around 11 am. There even some live programs for important events, thus the citizens can watch it from home immediately.
Second, talking about the influence, as the development of technology in the digital age, internet and modern devices become commonly to individuals, especially the younger generation. Everyone can handle a smart phone and check the lastest news on it everywhere and every time and most impressively, it is totally free. Contrastly, with newspaper, people have to go to the grocery store and paid for each newspaper they want. Recently, the number of newspapers released every day reduces gradually due to how inconvenient and costly they are. In the future, I guess newspaper will be disappeared with the domination of online news.
In conclusion, I don’t agree with the opinion of reading newspapers is the best choice if someone wants to get lastest information.
