Some people say that the best preparation for life is learning to be cooperative. Others take the opposite view and say that learning to be competitive is the best preparation. Tell which one you agree with and explain why.

Crucial quantities needed to well prepare for life is currently a hot-debated topic that often divides opinion. Some are of the opinion that cooperativeness is necessary, others claim competitiveness is the better, personally, I take the former group’s side.

Firstly, the spirit of solidarity is the key to success. Life is getting harsher and harsher every day, which makes it seem difficult to ride out the storm on one’s own. That is why working in a group where people can brainstorm the solutions to the problems and support each other offers the teams a greater opportunity to achieve good results than trying to deal with everything by themselves. This argument proves that it is very hard to go from 0 to 1 without a team.

Secondly, individuals stand a good chance of developing invaluable character traits owing to teamwork. Required to meet the deadlines, people have to be responsible enough to plough through all of the tasks they are assigned without adversely influencing group effectiveness. In addition, dropping one’s ego plays an essential role in creating a powerful collective, which helps individuals realize the importance of being respectful of others’ outlooks. This is particularly indispensable for children who are going to undergo a great number of upcoming changes.

All in all, though each has its own perks, I tend to lean towards cooperativeness due to the fundamental benefits it brings about, especially in the future.
