The table compares the proportion of residents in a town who cycled in the year of 2011 .
Overall, female cyclists of all ages had higher percentage than their male counterparts. People from 18 to 59 received lower proportion than other age groups.
Looking first at age groups 0 to 9 and 10 to 17, the percentage of female cyclists from 0 to 9 was approximately the same as that of males. Meanwhile, the proportion of teenage girls who cycled was twice higher than that of boys.
As for cyclist from 18 to 39 and 40 to 59, there was a decrease in the percentage of both genders, from almost one in five down to 12.3% for females and from approximately a tenth down to a mere 8% for males.
By contrast, the proportion of over-sixty cyclists witnessed a significant rise for females and males, reaching 18.5% and over 13%, respectively.
