To what extent do you agree or disagree?

My essay:
These days, it is clear that bumper-to-bumper traffics and pollution are serious and important problems and we must tackle them before it is too late. Exhaust fumes from millions of vehicles are causing irreparable damages to our environment. One of the ways that is suggested is increasing petrol’s price. It’s not the best way to solve these issues and we need other measures in the long term.
Although, increasing the price of petrol may decrease the number of cars in the street, but it can make distressing consequences. Almost all the factories and industries use fossil fuels. So, high price of these fuels would have bad impacts on these industries and hence, they increase the price of their products to compensate fuel costs. What is more, shipping and transporting costs would increase. As a result of these, there would be an inflation in the market and then, the price of everything will increase dramatically, such as foods and drugs which are two essentials in the lives of all segments of society, particularly low economy residents.
There are more effective and promising solutions to control and minimize these problems. The government can improve the public transportation services. For example, they can devote some roads for riding bicycles. In fact, people can have access to clean and friendly resources to environment. They also can use modern public vehicles instead of the old ones, like solar cars or electrical buses which are used by the USA in the long run.
All in all, the main change comes from public awareness. As a matter of fact, people should know about pollutants and traffic harms for the environment and their health, and the ways they can help to tackle these issues and try to leave their selfish actions.
In conclusion, to solve the problems of traffic and pollution, beside of clean fuels and high-quality transportation, there is a need to raise people’s awareness.
