Essay:
The charts illustrate new cars sold in Australia in 1984, 1993 and 2013 of three different groups namely Sedans, SVUs, and Others.
Overall, the total number of sales steadily increased throughout the period. Besides, Sedans was always the brand name that had the most car sold.
Although always accounting for the highest sales of new cars compared to the other groups, Sedans fell about 5% to only 50% in the year 1993. However, it rose back again to 57% in 2013 while at the same time SVUs and Others declined to just 19% and 24% respectively, despite their light rise in 1993.
The total number of new cars sold constantly rose in these three years, starting from 32,000 and reaching its peak at 52,000. The upwards trend also applied for Sedans and SVUs, with 29,640 and 9,880 cars sold respectively in 2013. On the other hand, Others group, regardless of a dramatic surge in cars sold of more than 4,000 to 12,760 in 1994, the sales eventually fell slightly to 12,480 in the year 2013.
