My essay:
It is concerned that the way people think and react towards certain events are often misled by what media controllers want and hardly any solutions can be done to rectify this. While I completely agree with the former idea, I believed that this problem can be tackled in several ways.
In my opinion, news, the one on the internet, in particular, tends to be biased, perceiving any problems under one perspective instead of the whole. Thus, people can be easily misled for the sake of the benefits of the writers. A case in point is that many fake stories are made up to take readers for granted. These stories revolve around everything that is miserable to trap people into believing them, such as a homeless child seeking help, or even poor elderly people suffering from serious illnesses and ultimately, fundings are appealed to support these imaginary characters.
However, various methods can be done to address this issue by both governments and individuals. Apart from introducing new laws that strictly fine those who distribute artificial information, the authorities can also require publishers to censor the news thoroughly. As individuals, people should be more aware of the news prone to be attention-grabbing and choose to read only reliable sources of information. Reporting news containing misleading information to the government is advisable.
In conclusion, it is true that information via the media is not always reliable as some bad people may take advantage of it to make a profit illegally. Hence, the cooperation between individuals and the government to rectify this is a must.
