Many people argue that museums and galleries should concentrate on displaying works that show their domestic history and culture rather than works of external civilizations. Personally, I believe that museums and galleries should display a variety of exhibits from many countries worldwide besides native works.There are two main reasons why it is necessary for museums and galleries to collect historical objects and pieces deriving from overseas nations. One reason is that people might be too familiar with the traditional history and culture which they have learnt about and have lived with for a long time. Therefore, it can make the local inhabitants fed up with to see those things every day repeatedly. Meanwhile, a showroom full of new-fangled works of other cultures can draw a large amount of visitors because people always feel curious and excited about unheard-of things. For example, Vietnamese people might be a little more attracted to magnificent artworks from Greece or Roman rather than watching bullets or bomb debris that are related to the mournful and suffering history of Vietnam wars.Apart from the practical benefit expressed above, variety in exhibition can help local people, especially students expand their knowledge about different foreign civilizations. That can make them more interested in exploring history, culture and art, gradually love for global cultural diversity will take shape, contributing to eliminate racial prejudice. Furthermore, being able to see historic masterpieces of many parts in the world will make them value the power and creativity of human race which can help us achieve incredible things. Accordingly, young people will open their vision from individual to worldwide perspective, they will have an inspiration to obtain great achievements and create significant changes to the world.In conclusion, for the reasons I have mentioned above, I strongly believe that museums and galleries should expand their range of exhibits to include works from around the globe. Not only the museums will benefit but it will also bring a change to cultural standards of the local people.
