PLEASE REVIEW MY ESSAY - IELTS WRITING TASK 1

The two tables provide information on how many Fairtrade-labelled coffee and bananas were sold in five different nations namely the UK, Switzerland, Denmark, Belgium, and Sweden in 1994 and 2004.

Overall, it is clear that the selling of both coffee and bananas saw an upward trend during the period shown. Moreover, the UK ranked first in terms of sales of coffee and bananas.

Looking at the tables more closely, one can see that between 1999 and 2004, British coffee sales escalated from 1.5 to 20. A similar trend can be seen in the figure for bananas which initially stood at 15 and then reached its peak of 47 in 2004. Meanwhile, the sales of coffee in Switzerland and bananas in Denmark experienced slighter growth of around 3 over the period of 5 years.

Turning to other countries, while Belgium witnessed an increase of 0,7 in the sales of coffee, Sweden’s coffee sales grew by only 0,2 from 1999 to 2004. By contrast, the figures for fairtrade – labelled bananas in both Belgium and Sweden registered 0,8 and 1,1 shrinkage respectively.
