PLEASE REVIEW MY ESSAY IELTS TASK 2

Most people have forgotten the meaning behind traditional or religious festivals; during festival periods, people nowadays only want to enjoy themselves. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?

In an accelerating pace of life, there is a perception that most people have neglected the meaning behind the traditional or religious festivals, leading to the result that they are inclined to just enjoy themselves during such events. From my perspective, people do have a tendency to underestimate the value of traditional festivals as life gets more modern on account of numerous reasons.

On the one hand, although the modernization has enabled us to do lots of things, it exerts considerable pressure on people regarding their interpretation of traditional or religious gatherings. Initially, the industrialization has resulted in people’s hectic life schedule, meaning people are incredibly tied up with work, errands, deadlines, meetings that take up a tremendous amount of time in their daily life. Consequently, they have difficulties in prioritizing time for activities that are more meaningful but less materially beneficial such as traditions and religions. Simultaneously, the Internet and other social networking sites such as Facebook and Instagram have been successfully scattering people’s attention to many different interests, drifting us away from traditional and religious values, and when it comes to festival attendance, it is nothing but a responsibility to them.

On the other hand, despite the fact that these values are being overlooked in the modern era, there is a fair number of people who highly appreciate the meaning behind such festivals. To start with, they have been putting efforts into reminding their family members of the importance of traditional and religious occurrences. To illustrate, national traditions have become their family traditions, passing down to many generations. Not only do they enhance people’s acknowledgment about the meaning of such events, but they even utilize the benefits of the Internet and other social networking sites to raise people's awareness of these values, done through posts, groups, and shares.

By way of conclusion, I am utterly convinced that there is a growing number of people who are inclined to overlook the meaning behind traditional and religious festivals owning to the above-mentioned reasons.
