Topic: These pie charts below show how workers in the city of Rockingham normally traveled to work.

The two pie charts, one in 2005 and the other in 2015, show the percentages of the commuting method of workers (commuting by car, carpool, bus, bicycle, walking and working at home) in the City of Rockingham.

Overall, in both years, the most common way to get to work was driving alone in a car and using a carpool and a bus. Although the proportion of using cars and carpools to work all dropped in 2015, this order did not change. By contrast, walking was always the least popular method to get to work.

In 2005, the pie chart pictured the most significant percentage of the commuting method by workers was to drive a car by themselves at 50% and this, then, fell to 35% in 2015. The proportion of carpool using also had a decrease from 25% in 2005 to 20% in 2015. Commuting by bus, by contrast, remained constant in both years at a mere 15%.

On the other hand, cycling, which was one of the two least popular commuting methods in Rockingham, increased slightly from 5% to 10% in 2015. Working at home also rose marginally 5% from 10% to 15%. However, walking, which stayed the same in both two years (5%), was still the least popular way to get to work.
