Essay prompt and instruction:

Write about the following topic.

Are famous people treated unfairly by the media? Should they be given more privacy, or is the price of their fame an invasion into their private life?

Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Popular personnel's personal lives are being invaded by the media and the question has arose if this is because of their fame and if they should be given equal privacy like any other human being.

Being a celebrity or a well known person comes with its pros and cons. The recent rise of social media has made celebrities' life more open and predicable to their fans and followers. The media and news channels in particular can be seen these days covering prime stories about the personal lives and habits of celebrities. On some occasions, famous personalities are also seen being accused of paying the media houses for making stories about them for staying in news. All these has made celebrities gain more popularity in recent times.

However, some famous personalities choose to stay away from headlines by keeping their personal lives private. In such cases, media houses should respect such decisions and should not intrude in personal lives of celebrities. Even after this one of the famous media houses of Asia, The Wire was seen covering the divorce news of a famous sports person. Although, later The Wire took down the article and apologised for their article, one cannot fail to imagine the uproar it would have caused. Such articles are the examples of the price one has to pay for being famous. In severe scenarios such articles can make a person go through an immense emotional trauma. Hence, both the media and fans should trade carefully while admiring their idols.

In conclusion, being famous has its benefits but the rise of technology and social media had taken away the personal space of celebrities.
