Traffic and housing problems in major cities can be solved by moving large companies, factories and their employees to the countryside. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Over the past decades, urbanization has never ceased to draw public attention and provoke debates. Although local governments have paid efforts in upgrading infrastructure in major cities, the issue as to whether the ever-consistent issues of traffic jams and shortage housing should be taken by moving large companies and factories to rural areas or not remains controversial. To the best of my knowledge, governments should improve the quality of life in rural areas instead of force people to move there.

Firstly, it is important to recognize that metropolises have more opportunities than rural areas that fascinated people rush to those big cities to live and work. Many may argue that the higher population density, the more fierce competition will be. This argument could be true to some extent. However, they should take into account the fact that metropolises have a diversity of people from different ethnic backgrounds contributing to the development of businesses and expanding social cycles which hardly find in rural areas. Therefore, it is so risky to move to other places especially rural areas where they do not have any experiences and friends to be supported.

Secondly, it is equally important to recognize that because of poor living condition, this is the main reason accountable for the trend that most people often move to big cities. Many may argue that those people who are living in countrysides usually have longer life expectancy thanks to the lack of factories and high rate of traffics which is the main reason caused emission and trash. This argument is true to some extent. Nevertheless, they are ignorant of the fact that rural areas have long been underfunded budget from authorities because the lack of specialist, factories, manufacturers which is the main reasons responsible for people often seeking for work in big cities. For example, parents usually encourage their children moving metropolises in order to study and seeking for jobs after they graduated to have a high salary as in their small town has long been lack of high-quality schools and prestigious companies

In conclusion, It is clear that the tendency of people moving to big cities is because of the lack of infrastructure and specialists. Therefore local government should finance rural areas more to improve life quality and working condition.
