The amount of oil which produced in 1982 was roughly 2 million oil of barrels.Subsequently, there was a leveling off in oil production, at around 3 million between 1986 and 1994 but after it witnessed a gradual rose to 4 million in 2006.
Similarly, oil consumption was approximately 1.8 million but this grew slightly to 2.2 million in 1992. Moreover, it continued to rise but more steeply to overtake the quantity of oil made by China in 1994, at around 3 million. The consumption of oil then climbed again but more sharply to 6 million in 2006,
which was the highest point in the entire period surveyed.
