The maps (How many are there?) illustrate modifications made to the student standard (wrong word. There is no such thing as a "student standard room.") room five years before and after 5 years. (That does not make sense. Five years before when? Five years after when? Are they 10 years apart?)

In Task 1, you get a lot of extra points for making combinations. The interesting contrast for these two rooms is how many seats are there - does the new layout have more or less seating?

The two maps contrast the layout of a student common room from five years ago to its current configuration.

Overall, the counter area across the north side of the room had only one small change, but the main part of the room was nearly completely redesigned. The seating capacity was about the same.

The older design had a long counter along the north wall. This was where all the kitchen appliances were located: a sink, a microwave oven and a refrigerator. The only change is a second microwave taking up some of the available counterspace.

The main part of the room used to contain four round tables, each having chairs seating six people. Two of these tables were removed, leaving space for a large rectangular table seating four on each side. In addition, along the south wall, a bench for laptops was installed along with a large television in the corner. In front of the TV, there are three comfortable armchairs, which makes the total seating capacity 23, compared to 24 in the former layout. Next to the refrigerator, a drinks machine was put in.
