An increasing amount of  professionals, such as teachers and doctors are leaving their own country to work in developed countries

What are the reasons to this trend? What effects does it have on the countries professionals are leaving?

Nowadays, an increasing number of professionals, such as doctors and teachers are leaving their own countries to work in developed countries. There is one main reason to this trend, and underdeveloped countries could possibly face societal challenges as a result.

The primary motivation for professionals to leave their home worlds is the substandard treatment they received. In countries that are still in their developing stages, governments cannot afford to pay professionals decently, leaving most struggling with minimum wage. Also, the demand for work is significantly high, and most professionals often have to overwork without a pay promotion. For example, in Vietnam, where I live, the average medical practitioner receives a salary of merely 200-300 US dollars per month. Moreover, the number of patients is increasingly high, causing hospitals to overload and doctors to work nonstop.

As professionals are deserting the insufficient work conditions in their own countries, societal issues would likely increase. Without the most gifted and adept individuals, the developing course of any country is likely to be prolonged. As a result, citizens’ lives would may remain impoverished. It would be difficult for the younger generations to achieve greatness due to the lack of mentors and role models. Also, poor health and overall well-being due to substandard healthcare insurance is a major setback, preventing individuals from pursuing their wildest dreams. Thus, inequality between countries would only prevail.

In conclusion, high ranking professionals are leaving their developing home worlds to pursue careers in wealthier countries, primarily due to the substandard treatment they are receiving. This may damage underdeveloped societies permanently, prolonging their growth and development
