In many developed countries in the world, aging population problems are becoming more and more serious. In my view, aging population has both its merits and demerits.

On the one hand, elderly peole have a plenty of valuable experience in life. The importance of wisdom and local knowledge of older people is significant. Therefore, the elderly can tranform hands-on experience to the young. Moreover, the old can make positive contribution to the community by taking part in commnunity services and volunteer works. Because senior critizens are not ful-time employed, they are able to dedicate themselves to community and governmnet projects after retiring. For example, it is common to see the elderly participate in charity work to provide the needy people with food and shelters.

On the other hand, aging population leads to a wide range of detrimental impacts on economy. For instance, the more old people are, the more declined in the working- age population is. This results in a shortage of workers in certain vital sectors such as technology or computer science. Furthermore, as those sectors require innovation and creativity, a smaller working population would cause stagnation for the growth of the economy. More people are eligible for retirement pensions means that the governmnet has to allocate more resources to pensions and heathcare cots. This also means that the young workforce will have to bear a greater tax burden and have to work harder to take care of themselves as well as the elderly at the same time.

In conlusion, aging population causes many issues about economy, healthcare system, tax burden and national budgets. However, it also brings about many benefits for young people and the community
